ABOUT CAR connection...

CAR connection is centrally located just West from the intersection of Cesar Chavez Parkway and Commercial Street. We are four blocks East from Chicano Park, and about 1 mile South of the new Petco Stadium.

Over 20 years ago a small shop opened on 43rd and University in San Diego. It was called Louie's Auto Repair and right away started building up a list of loyal customers. Louie Ontiveros, the owner/founder of CAR connection, was a real expert, especially with regards to classics, and through Louie's Auto Repair he shared his skills with the public.

After moving Louie's Auto Repair to his backyard for a short time, Louie opened the first CAR connection for business in 1987. Originally located at 2191 Main Street, the business grew quickly.

In 1999 CAR connection reopened at its current location of 1904 Pueblo, a large shop capable of handling the increasing business. Since this time CAR connection has specialized in classic vehicle restoration, but services also include routine maintenance and repairs.

Part of the CAR connection business ideal is helping build a feeling of community. That's why you will see us helping out every year at the Chicano Park Day celebration (Over 16 years with the Stage Crew). Our rapport with customers is very important, and you'll always see and hear Louie shaking someone’s hand and making good conversation.
